Trick or Treat

Halloween can be a fun time of year to spend with family and friends but as with most celebrations, the mouth-watering menu can easily get out of hand! Try these tricks to fight the desire to overindulge by planning and being selective about your food choices so you can still have fun and enjoy your treats:

1.    Embrace Seasonal Produce

With plenty of fresh produce harvested this time of year why not get in the kitchen and create a hearty meal. You can easily curb your appetite with a nourishing homemade pumpkin or butternut squash soup

2.    DIY Treats

Create some fun treats in the kitchen such as mammy cookies or Halloween roasted veggies. Check out Pinterest, TikTok or Instagram for more ideas

Recipe sharing is encouraged!

3.    Hydration

Water is a key for replenishing your bodily fluids and staying hydrated.

4.    Protein

Offset overeating by splurging on protein-rich foods, protein’s satiating properties might help reduce overeating and the temptation for continued mindless snacking.

5.    Sugar sweets, chocolates, and candies

Challenge yourself to limit your portions or carve out some time to enjoy something sweet in peace after you put the kids or significant other to bed.

Happy Halloween

Enjoy!
