AVOIDING THE DOWNWARD SPIRAL

Today I want you to think about your journey from here. 


If you’re on a weight loss journey right now in particular, it would be reasonable to assume that at some point there will be tricky patch or two… 


In actual fact when you’re on a weight loss journey you’re most likely to have LOTS and LOTS of difficult periods when it comes to achieving results consistently. 


Therefore, 


When you do come to the inevitable hurdle to overcome, treat it as completely normal. Don’t freak out, don’t think everything is lost. 


Some people have taken decades to get to where they are now and needing support with weight loss, so one night having a few more cocktails than you planned, or having that whole pizza when you planned on only having a few slices? 


Is NOT going to derail your journey to phenomenal results. 


The only thing that will, 


Is thinking to yourself “This is catastrophic, I’ve ruined the whole week…” 


Then going on to consume thousands and thousands of extra calories the remaining days of the weekend… 


And then feeling as though you have an impossible task ahead, therefore you must just throw the towel in and start again some other time… 


This may sound familiar, or you may even know of somebody who has done this recently. 


The REALITY is that you planned on having say 3 slices of pizza and sides for that meal out… totalling say 800 cals… 


But you had the whole pizza and sides, so it ended up more like 1400 cals… 


To put this into perspective it takes a deficit of -3500 cals per week to lose 1lb per week… 


So in this example you’d have just lowered that deficit by 600 cals… which means that you’ll still lose just under 1lb regardless… 


But because you freak out and have the mentality of ‘It’s all ruined’ as above? This leads to the following 2/3 days of overconsumption.


THIS bit is the challenging bit, THIS is what means you didn’t get the results that week and even put a bit of weight on possibly… 


And because some people do this EVERY week the years can easily go by without results.


Please don’t succumb to the downward spiral bit, 


It all starts with you catastrophising your situation, which really isn’t the reality at all.
